📜HISTORY

▪️ In 1989, Dave Lane, an outdoor enthusiast, founded the brand (Rock Solid) to create more comfortable products, driven by the discomfort of the harness he used.
▪️ Two years after its founding, the company changed its name to Arc’teryx. The name originates from ‘Archaeopteryx,’ a bird considered a transitional link between feathered dinosaurs and modern birds.
▪️ Arc’teryx, firmly established in the industry, began planning clothing. In 1996, it collaborated with Gore-Tex, renowned for its waterproof material, to create a waterproof jacket, garnering widespread popularity and becoming a bestseller.
▪️ In 2020, Virgil Abloh, the artistic director of Louis Vuitton, wore an Arc’teryx windbreaker at the Paris Fashion Show, bringing the brand into the spotlight as a luxury lifestyle brand.
